So, after a year at Dalton she had been dubbed the Teacher's Pet. Well, it was better than some others. Like the Bad-Boy or the Slut. Ali and her older brother had been pretty lucky when it came to the name thing. Teacher's Pet and the Rocker. Not bad. But, his name should have been the over protective brother. This moring was one of the few times she could actually escape his ever watchful eye. And she was taking advantage of it.
So, she got out of the dorms, and was planning on going for a quick walk before heading back to her room and working on more homework. Normally, she was the smartest person in her class, but now here, she actually had to work at staying on top. Now, all that could be heard was the sound of her foot fall on the sidewalk, and the idstant murmer of other students. So, thinking she was alone, Ali began to sing very softly, her amazing voice floating quietly around her.

Lorena made her way through the courtyard, bored. She had free period right now, and had nothing to do. After faking sick in gym, she had an hour and a half to her self. She sat down by the water fountian, and took out her sketch pad, hoping to find something interesting to draw.
Hearing a girl singing, she looked up and saw her friend Alexis. "Hey, Alexis," She said, with a smile. Lorey's friend had a pretty voice, and Lorey loved it when Alexis sang. "You should really consider trying out for the school musical this year," Lorena said, setting her sketch pad aside.

Startled when she heard a voice near-by she immediatly quieted her voice in the middle of the verse. Then, seeing it was Lorena she continued to hum. She knew Lorena had heard her sing before, but she was one of the few. Ali didn't like to sing in public after a conflict earlier in life. She knew she was good, but she thought she was nowhere good enough to be in the musical.
"Me? Ha! I dont really sing too much, and you're one of the few who has heard me. I doubt I even make it." She altered her course and headed over to sit next to her friend. "So, why aren't you in class?" It was odd to see her out of class, and even weirder for Ali herself to be out, but she needed to catch up and study for a test, and being Teacher's Pet, she had permission from her teachers, besides Gym, to stay in her dorm and work.

"Well, Sevastien helped me skip gym, and I have free period next, so I have nothing to do," Lorena said, crossing her legs. "And you could definitely be in the musical. People who can barely sing get cast just becuase like no one tries out anymore. 'Sides, I'm co-director this year. I can always pull some string," Lorena said, waggling her fingers.
"And exactly why are you out of class?" Lorena asked."It's even more unusual for you to be out of class than me," She commented.

As Lorey commented on how she was going to the co-director Ali grunted. "I dont want to make the musical just because you're there. I want to make it cause Im good enough." She looked down and played with a string on her jacket as she listened to her friend comment on her being out of class.
"I got teacher permission to get out of my main classes. I still have to go to Gym class though. Not that I mind too much." The last sentance was laced with scarcasim. She hated gym, although she was pretty athletic and one of the first girls to be picked every time. She was still clumsy and tended to get hurt a lot still.

"If you hate gym so much, call in sick. I know they'll believe you, cause you never miss a day, unlike me, who takes every chance I get to skip it," Lorey said, with a grin. "I think this week it's dodgeball. So, if you decide to go, good luck!" Lorena said cheerfully, crossing her fingers for her friend.
"And as for the musical; I'm pretty sure I'm going to wind up sleeping through half the auditions, so I'm not going ot be that much help. Not my fault dark theaters, and comfy chairs make me sleep eaisly," She said cheekily.

Ali turned and laughed at her somment about sleeping. It was true, the seats in the auditouium were comfy here, but normally no one could sleep in them. "I think you forgot to take it into account that most of the singers who try out can't stay on pitch, and that it could keep almost anyone awake. Including you." She jabbed her friend lightly on the shoulder.
"So, any news I should know about you?" There was always something new going on in Lorey's life, and it seemed interesting. Nothing new ever happed to Ali, or at least nothing important.

"Well, if you consider having a make out fest in our dorm yesterday with Sev, and then beating him with a shoe, trying to get him to wear a dress, and skipping gym, and being tossed in the pool news, then yes," Lorena said, with a grin.
"And I'm sure even I could sleep through the auditions, if I stay up late enough at night," Lorey said, pondering the thought. "I really do need to get caught up on my reruns of Punk'd," She said with a laugh, remebering watching the show at three AM over the summer.

She just smiled att the news until the words 'our dorm' came up. Then she turned and looked at Lorey. "Oh, god! I left my underwear droor open yesterday!" She mentally hit herself and then put her head in her hands. Then she laughed a bit. "If he saw that then Ill just say they were yours." She laughed a bit more.
Then she took into account the other things. "You got thrown into the pool? When?" She waited, and sat back, twirling a stray piece of her deep chocolate hari around her index finger.

"Well, he actually went through my underwear drawer, if that tells you anything," Lorey said, recalling the memory. "I hit him with my shoe after that..." Lorena said, with a grin. "What can I say? I'm a very violent person."
"And he threw me in the pool after I pretended to be sick in gym. The water was freeeeezing. And then I dented someone's car in the parking lot, and nearly crashed into a mailbox, oh and I ran over a tire. Hmm...what else? Let's just say, yesterday was very...eventful," Lorena said, rambling on about her day. "And what did miss Alexis do yesterday while I was off nearly killing myself?" Lorey asked, genuinely interested.

She laughed pretty hard at Lorey's driving skills, though she knew they sucked already. "You know what? I never understood how you passed your driving test. Im amazed you didnt hit the instructor backing out or something." She loved to tease her about this kind of stuff.
Then came the boring part of the discussion. Ali herself. "Well... I pretty much went to class, came home to find your wet clothes in the bathroom, and your bra on the floor, did my homework, and then went out, only to be stalked by my ever protective brother! Fun right?" Her tone was very scarcastic.

"Actually...Nevermind," Lorena said, not wanting to explain that she actually did hit her instructor. Or the fact that she had to retake the test four times, but no one needed to know that, right?
"Oh, sorry about my clothes everywhere. I meant to put them in the dirty clothes box, but I kinda got sidetracked..." Lorena said, with a grin. "And you brother stalks you? Freaky. If my brother stalked me, he'd be permanently scarred by my colorful driving," Lorena said, giggling.

Well... sidetracked sounded a lot more fun than she had had. Oh well... she would eventually find a guy who met her standards, however high she had them set up. Actually, no guy could be as perfect as she wanted, but one had to be close right? Grrr... she let out a sigh, and them mumbled under her breath, "at least you have someone to sidetrack you..." not meaning for her to hear.
Then to explain her brother. "Well... mom and dad dont exactally trust me after a little incident in 8th grade. Neither does he. So, he follows me around making my life safe, but miserable." She had a boring, safe, idiotic life.
