Kelsey found herself walking sorrowfully through the courtyard, alone and lonely. Having no friends, she had nobody to talk to at this time of day. It really sucked, because just because she wasn't popular doesn't mean she has some contagious desease or something. And yet, other people avoid her as if she's walking around with the black plague or something.
Flopping herself down on the edge of the large waterfountain, she took out her coil-bound notebook and began to doodle aimlessly. She had nothing better to do.

Kelsey's head whipped upwards when she heard a voice saying hello. To her? Oh my!
"Oh... er... hi," she muttered, blush creeping up in her cheeks as she closed her notebook and stuffed it in her bag.
Why is she talking to me? Doesn't she know I'm a total outcast? A unpopular disease? she thought confusidly, gazing up at the girl. She tried to hide the confusion, but she failed, and knew she probably looked like an idiot.

Kelsey nodded, remembering the name.
"I'm pretty sure we're going to be sharing a dorm.." she said, looking up at Tylar. "I'm Kelsey. Kelsey Jameson." She stuck out her hand for the girl to shake. "Nice to meet you."
She turned slightly so that she could face the girl and play with the water from the fountain, where pennys and dimes littered the bottom, past wishes from the students of her school.

Kelsey had a hard time not telling Tylar that she highly doubted it, even though they'd be living with each other for the rest of the year.
"Oh, well, I'm Kelsey, as you already know.... And I like the colour orange." She didn't want to let this stranger know about her pointless life at home, because nobody but herself really cared about what went on at her house.
"What about you?"

Garfeild.. how does that name ring a bell? she thought. Then it hit her, and her face paled.
"Oh.. I've heard of Garfeild.... My brother lives there..." she said, her voice getting quieter with every word as she looked down at her shoes. She hated talking about herself, especially her brother who pretty much abandoned her.

"His name is Andrew Jameson... He's a few years older than me.. Just out of highschool this past year." She looked back up, telling herself to stop acting so emo about all this. She needed a friend, and here was one just waiting for her.
"Oh really? What kind of places are there? Is it nice? What kind of home did you live in?" She knew that if she could keep the girl talking, she wouldn't question Kelsey about her own personal life more.

"I'm a sophomore. Been going here since I started, too. But I keep on the downlow." She added a laugh here so it didn't show that she hated it.
"Do you have any hobbies? Anything I should be warned about before we move in?" she laughed. She remembered this one room mate she had who picked her nose all the time and flicked it on the carpet. Ew.

Kelsey found herself laughing as Tylar described herself.
"Well, I'm pretty sure I snore occasionally, only when I've been crying, though. Uhm... I doodle a lot, so there may be papers all over my side of the room, and posters on the wall, and I love to blast loud music a lot." Kelsey giggled. It was true, and it drove everyone around her crazy.

"Ooh, love songs are nice," Kelsey agreed. "Uhm... I also like the band My Chemical Romance, and Tokio Hotel, and Panic! at the Disco, and many other bands. I like pretty much anything." It was true. One day she could be rocking out to a loud rap song, the next day listening to Mariah Carey, and the next day she could be listening to Hannah Montana. Okay, maybe not Hannah Montana, but you get what I mean, right?
"Ooh, do you have any pets that I should know about?" Kelsey chuckled.

Kelsey grinned, giggling a bit.
"Are you suggesting we buy a pet kitten and keep it in our dorm? Because if you are," she paused to add joking dramatic tension. "I'm in." She used to have a cat, but it was hit by a car, like dogs. Actually, that particular cat might as well have been a dog, seeing as it was huge and vicious. It was quite a handfull.

Kelsey watched as Tylar got all happy about the thought of getting a kitty. It felt good to make someone so happy.
"Oh, no, I'm not bluffing. Just, you'll have to do the kitty litter, 'mmkay?" she giggled. "Ooh, what kind of kitty should we get? And we should get a kitten, because they're adorable."
